WATER-DRINK IT!

Our body is made up of 60 percent water on average which is the main reason why we should drink it. It adds mineral and nutrients to our body as well.  Not drinking enough water can cause dehydration as well as keep bad toxins in our body.
Some signs of dehydration are:
  • Excessive thirst
  • Fatigue
  • Headache
  • Dry mouth
  • Little or no urination
  • Muscle weakness
  • Dizziness
  • Lightheadedness

We want to stay hydrated and healthy from a beauty stand point as well (ladies). From a beauty expert perspective, when your body is hydrated, you get nothing but good benefits from it such as great looking skin, a nice dewy glow, clear eyes, and it also has an effect on your hair and nails. So drink up….
We’ve been hearing for years that on average a person should drink eight 8oz glasses of water day. In my opinion if you come close to it, you should be fine. Certain foods and other drinks are included so it doesn’t have to be all water but make it the majority. If you’re not a big fan of water, add some flavor to it to help you drink it. Also if you are a ‘green’ person, aluminum reusable thermos will be a great item to purchase. This cuts down on the plastic bottles.

    CHINESE HAIR HEALTH

My cousin sent this article to me and I thought it was worth sharing:

HAIR and skin are the mirrors of one's health. People with nice hair look energetic and healthy. Some people with white, thin or varicolored hair, or baldness are disconsolate. Whether the hair is healthy or withered is connected with general health. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the hair has close relations with the kidneys, liver, heart, lungs and brain. Dark, sleek, soft and fast-growing hair is evidences of energy, a body full of vital energy and blood, and a healthy brain. Sparse or white hair indicates disease and decrepitude. An old saying goes like this: "A person gets old first in the hair."

Hair is not only an indicator of health, its elasticity and toughness also protects the head and brain, and it has the function of metabolism. This is why people want beautiful hair. The following instructions can achieve results:

    1. Comb and massage the hair regularly. Ancient specialists in health held that hair should be combed frequently. This should not be merely regarded as beautifying yourself; it is important to prevent aging and disease. A Chinese book on the causes of various diseases says, "Hair will not turn white if it is combed regularly." Another on longevity says, " Frequent combing improves the eyesight and relieves colds. The hair should be combed 120 times. " It is best to comb it three times a day, morning, noon and before going to bed. Comb backward from the forehead, forward from the back of the head, and then comb it from left to right and right to left, 45 times. Fingers can play the same role. Massage your head softly with your fingers, first from forehead to the top of the head, then downward to the back, from the temples to the top of the head 10 times. After massage the scalp will feel hot and tight.

Medical research has pointed out that regular combing or massage has the following five effects: (1) it smoothes arteries and veins; (2) improves the circulation of the blood in the head; (3) nourishes the hair and prevents loss; (4) improves the eyesight, improves health and helps prevent cerebral hemorrhage; and (5) invigorates the function of the brain, refreshes the body and relieves fatigue.

    2. Wash the hair frequently. Cao Cishan, health specialist in the Qing Dynasty, wrote in a medical book, "Hair should be combed but not washed regularly. One will get a cold if it is washed in a wind." The ancients believed that the elderly and weak should wash their hair less often than people in good health. It is hygienically necessary to wash the hair. Since the sebaceous glands secrete a large quantity of esters, which not only keeps the hair supple but is bacterostatic, excessive washing or washing with ordinary soap will remove this protector of the hair and shorten its life. Serious overwashing may lead to ringworm.
Generally speaking, dry hair should be washed once every 10 to 15 days. If it is not so dry, once a week is good. Greasy hair should be washed every five days. The water should not be too hot but about 37°C . Hot water is harmful because it tends to turn the hair dry and fragile. But if the water is too cold, it doesn't wash clean. Different shampoos should be used for different types of hair. Neutral or dry hair should use toilet soap or neutral shampoo, greasy hair should use ordinary soap or laundry soap, or a shampoo containing more alkaline. Babies' hair should be washed with a special baby soap because their skin is very delicate.

Having your hair done can keep your hair in style, but almost every solution used contains sodium bicarbonate and ammonia which will damage your hair to some degree. Moreover, permed hair will turn yellow, fragile and lose its gloss. So hair should not be done with chemicals more than once in 5 months, even longer if the hair is normally dry. Children and those who are weak, allergic to chemicals, pregnant or lying in should not have their hair done with chemicals,

    3. Be pleasant. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the mental factor has much to do with changes in the condition of the hair. The hair will turn white or fall if one is narrow-minded, burdened with anxiety or mentally too tired. An old Chinese saying goes like this: "Laugh once and be ten years younger, but worry will turn your hair white." It is said that in the Spring and Autumn Period (770-467 B. C.) Wu Zixu fled from the State of Chu to the State of Wu. As he traveled, he came to Zhaoguan Pass where he knew he might be arrested. He was so nervous that his hair and beard turned white overnight. He escaped the following day because this had changed him beyond recognition. The story exaggerates but tells us that hair condition has a close relation with spirit. Therefore, people should try to refrain from being upset, train a strong will, stay broad-minded, optimistic and calm in order to meet the complications of life. This can not only keep your hair in good condition but is conducive to good physical and mental health.

    4. Take care of your hair. Those who work in strong sunshine or dusty places should wear caps. But caps should not be so tight that they affect sweat drainage. On rainy days the hair should be protected. The hair should not become muggy, so caps should not be worn a long time. If your work requires a cap, safety helmets with ventilation help ensure healthy hair growth.

    5. Pay attention to diet. A variety of diets that keep a balance between acid and base helps prevent baldness and white hair. Eat foods containing proper protein, iodine, calcium and vitamins B, A and E such as in milk, fish, eggs, coarse grain, green vegetables, fruit, especially melons. Those with gray, dry and thin hair should take Chinese medicine for prevention and treatment. Those whose hair has fallen or turned white early for their age because of physical weakness should eat walnuts and take Shouwu Yanshoii Dan and the tonic Qi Bao Met Xu Dan to build up the kidneys.

Very important for beautiful, health hair: Give up smoking, drinking and over-eating. Do physical training regularly, strike a proper balance between work and rest, use your brain rationally and live a regular life with good habits and customs.

    HEALTH REPORT ON BOTTLED WATER

On the Ellen show, Sheryl Crow said that this is what caused her breast cancer. It has been identified as the most common cause of the high levels of dioxin in breast cancer tissue.
Sheryl Crow's oncologist told her: women should not drink bottled water that has been left in a car. The heat reacts with the chemicals in the plastic of the bottle which releases dioxin into the water. Dioxin is a toxin increasingly found in breast cancer tissue. So please be careful and do not drink bottled water that has been left in a car.
Pass this on to all the women in your life. This information is the kind we need to know that just might save us! Use a stainless steel canteen or a glass bottle instead of plastic!

LET EVERYONE WHO HAS A WIFE / GIRLFRIEND / DAUGHTER KNOW PLEASE!

This information is also being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center .
    No plastic containers in microwave.
No water bottles in freezer. No plastic wrap in microwave.

A dioxin chemical causes cancer, especially breast cancer..Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Edward Fujimoto , Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard.

He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers...This especially applies to foods that contain fat.

He said that the combination of fat, high heat and plastic releases dioxin into
    the body.

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So, such things as TV dinners
, instant soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons...

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran wrap or Cling film, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

This is an article that should be sent to anyone important in your life!

    HEALTH TIP ON WATER

    From A Cardiac Specialist!
Drinking water at certain time maximizes it's effectiveness on the body:
2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs
1 glass of water30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack
Please pass this to the people you care about!
I can also add to this.  My Primary Care Physician told me that water at bedtime will also help prevent night time leg cramps.  Your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie Horse.  I can add too: the body is about 60% water – and the brain is 70% water..  When old people get confused sometimes it’s because they’re dehydrated.
    DRINK UP

    COCONUT OIL

The health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, increased immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV and cancer, dental care, and bone strength. These benefits of coconut oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, soothing, etc.
Hair Care: Coconut oil is one of the best natural nutrition for hair. It helps in healthy growth of hair providing them a shiny complexion. Regular massage of the head with coconut oil ensures that your scalp is free of dandruff, lice, and lice eggs, even if your scalp is dry. Coconut oil is extensively used in the Indian sub-continent for hair care. It is an excellent conditioner and helps in the re-growth of damaged hair. It also provides the essential proteins required for nourishing damaged hair. It is therefore used as hair care oil and used in manufacturing various conditioners, and dandruff relief creams. Coconut oil is normally applied topically for hair care.
Skin Care: Coconut oil is excellent massage oil for the skin as well. It acts as an effective moisturizer on all types of skins including dry skin. The benefit of coconut oil on the skin is comparable to that of mineral oil. Further, unlike mineral oil, there is no chance of having any adverse side effects on the skin with the application of coconut oil. Coconut oil therefore is a safe solution for preventing dryness and flaking of skin. It also delays wrinkles, and sagging of skin which normally become prominent with age. Coconut oil also helps in treating various skin problems including psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and other skin infections. Therefore coconut oil forms the basic ingredient of various body care products such as soaps, lotions, creams, etc., used for skin care.
Weight Loss: Coconut oil is very useful in reducing weight. It contains short and medium-chain fatty acids that help in taking off excessive weight. It is also easy to digest and it helps in healthy functioning of the thyroid and enzymes systems. Further, it increases the body metabolism by removing stress on pancreases, thereby burning out more energy and helping obese and overweight people reduce their weight. Hence, people living in tropical coastal areas, who eat coconut oil daily as their primary cooking oil, are normally not fat, obese or overweight.
Pancreatitis: Coconut oil is also believed to be useful in treating pancreatitis.
Digestion: Internal use of coconut oil occurs primarily as cooking oil. Coconut oil helps in improving the digestive system and thus prevents various stomach and digestion related problems including irritable bowel syndrome. The saturated fats present in coconut oil have anti microbial properties and help in dealing with various bacteria, fungi, parasites, etc., that cause indigestion. Coconut oil also helps in absorption of other nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
Immunity: Coconut oil is also good for the immune system. It strengthens the immune system as it contains antimicrobial lipids, lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid which have antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties. The human body converts lauric acid into monolaurin which is claimed to help in dealing with viruses and bacteria causing diseases such as herpes, influenza, cytomegalovirus, and even HIV. It helps in fighting harmful bacteria such as listeria monocytogenes and heliobacter pylori, and harmful protozoa such as giardia lamblia.
Healing: When applied on infections, it forms a chemical layer which protects the infected body part from external dust, air, fungi, bacteria and virus. Coconut oil is most effective on bruises as it speeds up the healing process by repairing damaged tissues.
Infections: Coconut oil is very effective against a variety of infections due to its antifungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties. According to the Coconut Research Center, coconut oil kills viruses that cause influenza, measles, hepatitis, herpes, SARS, etc. It also kills bacteria that cause ulcers, throat infections, urinary tract infections, pneumonia, and gonorrhea, etc. Coconut oil is also effective on fungi and yeast that cause candidiasis, ringworm, athlete's foot, thrush, diaper rash, etc.
Liver: The presence of medium chain triglycerides and fatty acids helps in preventing liver diseases as they substances are easily converted into energy when they reach the liver, thus reducing work load on the liver and also preventing accumulation of fat.
Kidney: Coconut oil helps in preventing kidney and gall bladder diseases. It also helps in dissolving kidney stones.
Diabetes: Coconut oil helps in controlling blood sugar, and improves the secretion of insulin. It also helps in effective utilization of blood glucose, thereby preventing and treating diabetes.
Bones: As mentioned earlier, coconut oil improves the ability of our body to absorb important minerals. These include calcium and magnesium which are necessary for development of bones. Thus coconut oil is very useful to women who are prone to osteoporosis after middle age.
Dental Care: Calcium is an important element present in teeth. Since coconut oil facilitates absorption of calcium by the body, it helps in getting strong teeth. Coconut oil also stops tooth decay.
HIV and Cancer: It is believed that coconut oil plays an instrumental role in reducing viral susceptibility of HIV and cancer patients. Preliminary research has shown indications of the effect of coconut oil on reducing the viral load of HIV patients .
Finally, coconut oil is often preferred by athletes and body builders and by those who are dieting. The reason behind this being that coconut oil contains lesser calories than other oils, its fat content is easily converted into energy and it does not lead to accumulation of fat in the heart and arteries. Coconut oil helps in boosting energy and endurance, and enhances the performance of athletes.

HEALTH TIP- ACID REFLUX DIET SOLUTIONS

That fiery sensation in the chest known as heartburn or acid reflux is often associated with eating foods like chili or an order of loaded nachos. But while certain foods can be the culprit, other diet and lifestyle habits may play a larger role, says Dr. Lauren B. Gerson, associate professor of gastroenterology and medicine at Stanford University Medical Center.

In fact, making the right changes could mean an improvement in symptoms within a week, says Gerson. That's especially good news for the 10 percent of Americans Gerson says experience heartburn on a daily or weekly basis (this chronic heartburn is often referred to as GERD or gastroesophageal reflux) as well as the 40 percent who experience it once a month.
So get ready to put out the fire -- here are the diet and lifestyle habits researchers believe may help ease heartburn and acid reflux.
Remember: if symptoms don't improve, or if you have trouble sleeping because of acid reflux or experience trouble swallowing, chest or stomach pains, nausea and vomiting, see your doctor right away.

    What to do:

    Eat an early dinner
"When you're lying down, many of the normal defenses against acid like gravity and peristalsis (the muscle contractions necessary to digest food) are compromised," says Gerson. That means if you go to bed with a full stomach, you're putting your body in a position where heartburn is more likely to occur. Eating dinner three to four hours before hitting the hay, says Gerson, should give food enough time to digest and empty out of your stomach first. When you do have to eat late at night, choosing foods that are low in fat may help curb heartburn.

    Don't overeat
Bigger isn't better when it comes to acid reflux and GERD sufferers. Essentially, the larger the meal, the more food that gets left in the stomach to possibly come up the other direction, says Gerson. Instead, trim portion sizes and eat four or five small meals throughout the day, rather than over-doing it with large portions two or three times a day.

    Avoid weight gain
Studies have shown that the more weight someone gains, the more likely they are to have reflux. Even if you gain weight, but remain in the normal weight range, you're at an increased risk for reflux, says Gerson.

Being overweight, however, also works against reflux and GERD. "The main cause of reflux is that the lower esophageal sphincter muscle relaxes and stomach acid rises up," says Gerson. "Being overweight causes it to relax more. It's partially because of hormones that are released when you're overweight and partially because of increased abdominal pressure."

Sleep with the head of your bed elevated
More than half of patients with chronic GERD report nighttime symptoms, says Gerson. Research has found sleeping with your head and chest higher than your feet decreases the amount and duration of reflux episodes, she says. Try placing six- to twelve-inch blocks under the bedposts at the head of your bed, or sleeping on a wedge to raise your upper body.

    What to avoid:

    Eating foods high in fat
Fatty foods tend to stay in the stomach longer, which delays emptying and increases your chances of reflux, Gerson says. If you're also eating a large quantity -- say, a burger and a large order of cheese fries -- you could be setting yourself up for even more discomfort.

    Smoking
Nicotine has been associated with weakening the lower esophageal sphincter and contributing to GERD, says Gerson. However, she says, there's not strong research to show an improvement in symptoms after quitting. Even so, there are a number of advantages to your health if you quit.

Spicy foods, citrus fruits and juices, chocolate, wine, coffee, caffeine and carbonated beverages
The jury is still out on these foods and drinks. "There is some evidence that these can relax the sphincter muscle," she says. "But there's still not strong evidence that cutting them out of the diet causes symptoms to improve."

Her advice? "I don't believe in total deprivation." If you get heartburn after drinking red wine, go easy on the red wine; if you love chocolate, try eating a small amount, like half a chocolate bar, and see how your tolerate it, she says. The food triggers for heartburn are completely different from patient to patient, she says. "Most patients are not bothered by all of these things, but have one or two that bother them."

    By Stephanie Tweito Jacob

Now, while all f these tips makes sense, I'm all about doing things naturally. So, one tip that I've been told (I haven't tried it yet b/c I rarely experience acid reflux) is boiling a sliced white potato and drinking the juice from it once it cools off a little. It's worth a try! Until next time, stay healthy!

HEALTH TIPS ON CINNAMON AND HONEY

    Cinnamon and Honey

Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar. In reality honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will do what I rather call "crystallizing".   When this happens I loosen the lid, boil some water, and sit the honey container in the hot water, turn off the heat and let it liquefy. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. To do so will kill the enzymes in the honey.Cinnamon and Honey
Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around.  Facts on Honey and Cinnamon:  It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases.  Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases.

Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients.   Weekly World News, a magazine in
Canada , in its issue dated 17 January,1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES: Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack.  Also, those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat.  In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.

ARTHRITIS: Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.CHOLESTEROL: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours.   As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.COLDS: Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.UPSET STOMACH: Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.GAS:
According to the studies done in
India and Japan, it is revealed that if Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.IMMUNE SYSTEM: Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacterial and viral diseases.INDIGESTION: Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.INFLUENZA:
A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ' Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.
    LONGEVITY:
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans also increase and even a 100 year old, starts performing the chores of a 20-year-old.
    PIMPLES:
Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the root.
SKIN INFECTIONS: Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.WEIGHT LOSS:
Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.
CANCER: Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a day.FATIGUE:
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M. when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week.
    BAD BREATH:
People of South America, first thing in the morning, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.
HEARING LOSS: Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing. Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!You might want to share this information with a friend, kinfolks and loved ones. EATING FRUIT- HEALTH TIP

    This  is informative!

We  all think eating fruit means just buying fruit,  cutting it up and popping it into our mouths.  It's not that easy. It's important to know how  and when to eat fruit.

What's  the correct way to eat fruit?

IT  MEANS NOT EATING FRUIT AFTER A  MEAL! FRUIT SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTYSTOMACH.

Eating  fruit like that plays a major role in  detoxifying your system, supplying you with a  great deal of energy for weight loss and other  life activities.

FRUIT  IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.

Let's  say you eat two slices of bread, then a slice of  fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go  straight through the stomach into the  intestines, but it's prevented from doing so.

In  the meantime, the whole meal rots and ferments,  and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes  into contact with the food in the stomach, and  digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins  to spoil.

Eat  your fruit on an empty stomach, or  before your meal! You've heard people complain:  Every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat  durian my stomach bloats, when I eat a banana I  feel like running to the toilet, etc. This will  not happen if you eat the fruit on an empty  stomach. Fruit mixes with the putrefying other  food and produces gas. Hence, you bloat!

There's  no such thing as some fruits, like orange and  lemon are acidic, because all fruit becomes  alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert  Shelton who did research on this matter. If you  have mastered the correct way of eating fruit,  you have the Secret of Beauty, Longevity,  Health, Energy, Happiness and normal  weight.

When  you need to drink fruit juice drink only  fresh fruit juice, NOT the concentrated  juice from the cans. Don't drink juice that has  been heated. Don't eat cooked fruit; you don't  get the nutrients at all. You get only the  taste. Cooking destroys all of the vitamins.

Eating  a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice.  If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful  by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix  with your saliva before swallowing it. You can  go on a 3-day fruit-fast to cleanse your body.  Eat fruit and drink fruit juice for just 3 days, and you will be surprised when your friends say  how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny  but mighty, and a good source of potassium,  magnesium, vitamin E and fiber. Its vitamin C  content is twice that of an orange!

AN  APPLE a day  keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a  low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants and  flavonoids which enhances the activity of  vitamin C, thereby helping to lower the risk of colon cancer, heart attack and stroke.

STRAWBERRY:  Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest  total antioxidant power among major fruits and  protect the body from cancer-causing, blood  vessel-clogging free radicals.

EATING  2 - 4 ORANGES a day  may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol,  prevent and dissolve kidney stones, and reduce  the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest  thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is  also packed with a giant dose of glutathione,  which helps boost our immune system. Also a key  source of lycopene, the cancer-fighting oxidant.  Also found in watermelon: Vitamin C and  Potassium.

GUAVA  & PAPAYA: Top  awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners  for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also  rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation.  Papaya is rich in carotene, good for your eyes.

Drinking  Cold water after a meal =  Cancer!

Can  you believe this? For those who like to drink  cold water, this applies to you. It's nice to  have a cold drink after a meal, however, the  cold water will solidify the oily stuff that  you've just consumed, which slows digestion.  Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will  break down and be absorbed by the intestine  faster than the solid food. It will line the  intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats  and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup  or warm water after a meal.

A  serious note about heart attacks.

    HEART  ATTACK PROCEDURE

Women  should know that not every heart attack symptom  is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of  intense pain in the jaw. You may never have the  first chest pain during the course of a heart  attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also  common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who  have a heart attack while they're asleep do not  wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a  sound sleep. Be careful, and be aware. The more  we know, the better our chance to survive.

A  cardiologist said if everyone who gets this mail  sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that  we'll save at least one life.

It  can  even be  your life!
