THE IMPORTANCE OF IODINE- A MUST READ

Iodine has been stripped out of daily diets. When I learned how important iodine is to our body, I knew it was important (to say the least) that I share this information with you all.

Iodine effects everything from your thyroid, heart disease, cancer rate, hormones, reproductive issues, depression, mental retardation, chronic fatigue, hair/nails and teeth, and soooo much more. Don't feel bad, I had no idea either....

Iodine is stored or produced in the thyroid gland. Most people with thyroid issue are lacking iodine. Go figure.
Iodine fights off cancer. It actually reverses cancer. It starts off by soaking up the thyroid gland and then into to the tissues area that's effected. For example, if you have breast caner, it will go to the breast tissue itself.

The health benefits of iodine include formation of healthy and shiny skin, teeth and hair. Iodine is an important element for haircare as lack of this mineral can result in hair loss. Moreover, it also aids hair growth.

There are two types of iodine. One is used internally and one is used externally. You can do a simple test on your skin to see if you are lacking iodine. Simple take the external iodine and place a small amount on an area of your body that's not really exposed. Let it stay for 24 to 48 hours. If the stain disappears within a few hours, you have a very low amount of iodine in your body. If it's still there after the second day, you are good to go with your iodine level.

In general, foods from the sea contain the most iodine, followed by animal foods, and then plant foods. Of all foods seaweed, like kelp, is the most famous and reliable source of natural iodine, however egg and dairy products can also be good sources.

There is tons of information on iodine on the Internet. Do your research and be sure to pass this along as I'm sure we ALL are waaaay below the level which we should be.
You can purchase the external iodine from a drug store and the internal iodine from a health food store, Whole foods, and off the Internet. I purchased a bottle from Whole Foods called Iodine-Kelp for $4.99.
