BEYONCE TAKES A WALK ON THE DARK SIDE

We've all grown accustomed to seeing Bey as a blonde but here she was spotted rocking dark tresses which looks very warm and healthy on her.
I'm trying to remember the last time I saw her with black or very dark hair and the only time I can think about is in her Get Me Bodied video, and pictures of her as a child. I read in an interview that she did that her hair is natural. She talked about how she's very into her hair, skin, and nails and being natural. She said after most shows, videos, movies, etc, how she can't wait to have her down time to remove the hair and makeup and just be herself.

GODDESS BRAID

Although the rumors regarding Will and Jada Smith were false, one thing's for certain, Jada's hair was definitely gorgeous in this pic. Find out how you can style your hair is this wonder Goddess braid or a similar style.

RIHANNA- OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW

Rihanna was spotted in London this weekend rocking her new hair color and style.
Alot of people did not seem to like the red on her but I <3'd it. It was different and fun for the summer. Not everyone can pull it off. She's edgy and different so she has no problem doing things "out the box"  when it comes to hair and fashion.

TIP OF THE WEEK- BY WILLIAM EDMONDS

HEATED ROLLERS

Invest in heated rollers. Style doesn't last forever. So when you wake up in the morning and the hair has gone flat with no curl, plug in your heated rollers and set your hair for 5 mins. You can prep with hair spray. My favorite is "air control" by Aveda. Its shiny and soft to the touch.

ICON: DIANA ROSS

When it comes to HAIR, TALENT, CLASS, AND STYLE, Diana Ross is one of the few names that comes to mind. Her signature hair has caught the eyes of millions. I often find myself saying "I want real BIG hair, ya know....like Diana Ross BIG"...That's BIG! lol...
Her talent, style, and classiness does not take a backseat to her hair. Those things about her are just as big. She passed the torch to her daughter Tracee Ellis Ross who also wears her hair big, wild, and free.
Big hair makes a statement to me. It says that 'I'm different, bold, and beautiful.'

BROOKLYN MUSEUM- NATURAL HAIR TAKE-OVER

When asked "What do you love about your natural hair the most?" a group of pre-teens began to shout out from every which way "IT'S NATURAL! IT HAS NO CHEMICALS! IT'S BEAUTIFUL! IT STANDS OUT! IT'S MY OWN NATURAL TEXTURE! IT'S WHO I AM!" That was the hi-lite of my night. I arrived at The Brooklyn Museum a little too late to go inside so we decided to walk around on the outside and enjoy the atmosphere. As soon as I began walking I started noticing all of the natural hair out there. There were literally more naturals than not. So I decided to capture some of these creative hair styles from men, women, and children to share with you. I was so amazed at the creativity I saw...from twist outs, to brush cuts, to TWAs (teeny weeny afros), to dreadlocks ALL lengths (including thigh length), to WnGs (wash and gos), to mohawks, to braids, and not to mention different colors. These people just seem to be so care free to me and definitely have a style of there own. We shared blog sites, websites, product information, and more. I had a great time and look forward to attending this event again soon in the near future.

So for those of you that's visiting the blog from the event, thanks for participating. If your picture is posted below, I REALLY LOVED your hair. As I already mentioned, my young group of girls were my favorite. They have so much character already so I know they will follow a path of their own and no one else's. Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I do.

FYI, because it was dark outside some of the hairstyles didn't show up....sorry....

BASKETBALL WIVES EARRINGS

Seems like when you go natural, everything else takes up a step up. I find myself wearing makeup more often and definitely accessorizing more. Purchasing earrings have become a weekly job for me....and watching Basketball Wives this season definitely did not curve my spending habits on purchasing earrings.
So I've noticed the trendy earrings this season that each of the girls have all been spotted wearing and went on a hunt (so that you won't have to) to find these earrings.
You can you to ILovePoparazzi.com to purchase them at $45 a pair....You can also purchase a pair of plain hoops and any kind of beads or crystals and design your own. ENJOY!!!

PRODUCT REVIEW

So once again I tried another combination of hair products to see if I get a different result of my twist out. This time I used AG Fast Food Leave in conditioner and Isoplus Dread locks & twists molding creme. Now lots of you wouldn't have even purchased this product be of the ingredients (petrolatum and mineral oil), but I was willing to give it a try because the butters, cremes, and leave ins just was cutting it.

These 2 products together gave me the  little bit of weight I needed and as each day went on it lightened up. I didn't have to add any product to my hair the whole time.

To reserve my hair style, I separate my twist once a day....Also this was done on wet hair.

Products used

day one (side/back view)

day one (front view)- Just untwisted once

day two- untwisted more

day two (front view)- every day I seperate more to make fuller

day three- seperated even more
